Terms of Sale

The terms for buying Minimal Reader and Chinese Study on kindofhuman.com, including our refund policy. Our other apps come with their own terms.

The short version

  • Pay once for an app, for up to 3 Macs at a time, with its updates.
  • Creem handles the payment, VAT and your receipt.
  • AI features run on your own Claude or ChatGPT account, which isn’t included.
  • Not right for you? Full refund within 14 days, no questions asked.

What you’re buying

Minimal Reader and Chinese Study are Mac apps. Buying one gives you a personal, non-transferable license to use that app on up to 3 of your Macs at a time. The updates we release for the app are included.

The apps run on Macs with Apple silicon.

Prices and payment

Payments are processed by Creem, which acts as the merchant of record: it is the seller on your receipt, and it handles sales tax and VAT. Prices include VAT where it applies.

A launch or promotional price applies to purchases made while it runs. It isn’t applied to earlier purchases, and later purchases pay the price shown at the time.

Delivery

After you pay, Creem emails your receipt with a link to download the app and your license key. Keep the email: the key is also in Creem’s customer portal.

AI features

Some features use AI: AI search in Minimal Reader, and the tutor in Chinese Study, including its grammar marks and the backs of flashcards. They run on your own Claude or ChatGPT account, through Claude Code, Codex or Sign in with ChatGPT. That account isn’t included in the price. Its provider’s prices, usage limits and terms apply, and you deal with the provider directly.

AI answers can be wrong. We are not responsible for a provider’s charges, availability or answers. In Minimal Reader, the text shown in search results always comes from the book itself; the AI only chooses which paragraphs to show.

Books and texts

Books and texts you add to either app, from files or from the web, are your responsibility. Only add material you have the right to use; it remains subject to its publisher’s terms.

Refunds

If an app isn’t right for you, write to contact@kindofhuman.com within 14 days of your purchase for a full refund, no questions asked.

Refunds are paid by Creem to your original payment method. A refunded purchase ends the license.

Warranty and liability

The apps are provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, lost data or charges from AI providers, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Poland. Mandatory consumer rights in your country still apply.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change, we’ll update the date at the top. A purchase is governed by the terms in force when you made it.

The apps are made and licensed by KIND OF HUMAN SPÓŁKA Z OGRANICZONĄ ODPOWIEDZIALNOŚCIĄ.
